How the Paid Media Crossword works

It's a 34-answer crossword built from the terms people use every day in paid advertising: Google Ads match types and campaign types, Meta formats and audiences, Shopping feeds, and the metrics that tell you whether any of it worked. The clues are riddles, so knowing the definition is only half of it. You have to work out what the clue is pointing at.

      Who is it for?

Anyone who works around digital marketing. If you run ad campaigns, manage an agency, or you're just learning how paid search and paid social fit together, you'll recognise most of the answers. A few are genuinely tricky.

      How do hints work?

You get eight hints for the whole grid. Pick an answer, press Use a hint, and the clue is rewritten in plain terms. Hints don't fill in letters for you, and once they're spent, they're spent.

Can I check my answers before I see the score?

Yes. Review answers shows everything you've entered, including the ones you haven't finished. Tap any row to jump back and change it. When you're happy, ask for your score and every answer is marked, with a short explanation of each term.

Will I lose my progress if I close the page?

No. Your letters, time and hints are saved in your browser, so you can come back to it later on the same device.

      Is it free?

Yes, and there's no sign-up. Play it, share your score, and send it to the colleague who says they know everything about PPC.
